Aldo Izzo, at 93, is in charge of the ancient Jewish cemetery in Venice, one of the oldest in Europe, as he has been since he left his job as a ship captain in the Italian merchant navy some forty years ago.
This work was born from the meeting of Marjorie Agosin with Aldo during an artistic internship in Venice and from the friendship that has developed between them since then.
