Samuel Shats

Photographer

My Head

Project based on the idea of Teresa Claro, who when losing her hair as a side effect of a chemical treatment in her struggle against cancer, decides to turn her head into canvas. Numerous artists paint and photographers record as they broaden horizons and reformulate experiences.

For all she feels and thinks, Teresa is presented in the first series as a mixture of a Byzantine saint and modern heroine. The second series focuses on the game of looks; to the eye of the photographer are added those of Teresa and the sharp eye of the painter.

This work is part of a collective creation produced by Julia Lafée, Javier Moreta, Teodoro Schmidt and Samuel Shats.
